What are the stored dimensions of the GOAT?
The GOAT easily fits into a standard garage at 158″ long x 75.5″ wide x 57.5″ tall.
What type of mainenance does the GOAT require?
Once a year you should lubricate the bearings in the tires and the lift system and monitor tire pressure. We also offer a maintenance kit to make it easy!
Like with any tent, best practice is to keep it clean and store it dry. If you have to pack it up wet, as soon as possible, open it up and let it dry out. We recommend using a tent-safe wash after each trip, and a solar spray once a year, to help keep the tent in great condition and maintain the waterproof properties.
What if my GOAT needs repair?
You can take the GOAT to any RV dealer and they can likely do any repair for you. They do not need to be a SylvanSport dealer. The GOAT is a super unique product, but all the parts are common in the RV industry so repairs are usually simple. We will work with you and the dealer to get them the parts they need as well as determining what labor costs will be covered under our warranty policy. All labor costs must be pre-approved by SylvanSport before the repair.
Can my vehicle tow the GOAT?

What do I need to tow the GOAT?
In order to tow any trailer, you will need a 1-1/4′ or 2′ hitch installed on your vehicle, if you do not have one already. You will then need a 2″ ball, unless you opt for the articulated hitch. The height of the ball should be 19″ from the ground to the middle of the ball. *Pro tip, if you need a hitch installed on your vehicle, call your local U-haul location – they are usually an affordable place to book an installation appointment.
Does the GOAT have brakes?
Brakes are an optional upgrade.
How fast can I drive with the GOAT?
The tires are rated for highway speeds and you can travel safely within the speed limit anywhere in the United States.
How long does it take to set up and pack up the camper?
After a few times, you can easily set up the camper in about 10-15 minutes. The first time you set up, it may take you a bit longer, but like with anything, the more your do it the better you get.
How many people can sleep in the GOAT?
The interior of the GO can sleep up to 4 adults, with a modular interior that lets you choose between 2 XL Twin Beds or 1 large sleeping platform that equals the size of a King Bed + XL Twin bed.
How big are the beds?
Each side bed is an XL Twin (34 inches wide by 80 inches long). Or if you choose to set it up as one big sleeping area, the size is equal to a King + XL Twin (116 inches wide by 80 inches long).
What is the weight capacity of the beds?
Does the GOAT have electricity?
The GOAT does not have electricity, but you have options. If you are camping at a site with electrical hook up, you can easily run a drop cord inside to add a power strip. We also have a solar kit that is a great option for power as well.
Is there air conditioning?
The GOAT is designed to give you a tent camping experience and connection to nature. It does not have AC, but the tent itself has a very elaborate ventilation system to maximize airflow. Portable air conditioners, like the EcoFlow Wave 2, are a great solution for when things get hot.
Can I camp in cold weather in the GOAT?
Being prepared with the right gear is essential for cold weather camping. Having an appropriate rated sleeping bag/blankets for the temperatures you anticipate will help you stay cozy at night. A portable heater, like the EcoFlow Wave 2, is also a great way to stay warm.
What are the dimensions of the cargo area?
The cargo area is 48 inches wide by 84 inches long. You can expand the interior height from 17″ up to 48″ by raising or lowering the rack system. In the lowest position, the cargo area fits most standard coolers and totes.
How much weight can the GOAT carry?
The GOAT has an overall carrying capacity of 950 lbs.
What is the weight capacity of the rack system?
The rack system can carry up to 200 lbs. Note: the carrying capacity of the rack system is included in the overall carrying capacity.
Can I mount bike, kayak, and other accessories on the rack?
The rack system fits most major brands of roof rack accessories (bike and kayak carriers, cargo boxes, baskets, etc). It’s designed to mirror the aerobars on many vehicles, so if the piece will fit on a roof rack it will likely fit on the GOAT.
Can I add cross bars to extend the width of the rack?
Yes! The rack system is compatible with a variety of 3rd party crossbar systems.
